Olympus DS-9500 - How To Send Dictation from WiFi Connected Device via Email

The latest professional digital dictaphone from Olympus comes packed with modern features and functions including wifi connectivity. When connected to any wifi network (office, home, local coffee shop) it is possible to email your digital dictation direct from the Olympus DS-9500 itself, perfect if you are working from home or out and about and can find a wifi hotspot.

• No need to return to your desk to dock your dictaphone
• Connect to any wifi hotspot anywhere and email your digital dictation

The process to configure your Olympus DS-9500 to send digital dictation via wifi is as follows.

Note: You can only set this up using the Olympus ODMS R7 Dictation Module for Windows. Mac users at the time of writing there is no way to configure this using DSS Player Plus for MacOS, you will need to find a friend or colleague with a Windows computer (the Olympus DS-9500 comes with a software install licence for both Windows and Mac).

1. Via the Dictation Module - configure your docked Olympus DS-9500 to use a wifi network (you can add multiple WiFi networks) - click here for a detailed guide

2. Create an email profile - this defines the email message the will be used when attaching your audio file - click here for a detailed guide

 

3. Add the email address of the people who will be the recipients of your .ds2 audio files - click here for a detailed guide

 

Important: Make sure that during all the above steps you apply the changes, this ensures that the settings made in the Dictation Module are flashed to the Olympus DS-9500
